We actively focus on ESG by Design

Many of our customers operate in industries that are currently undergoing a major transformation, driven by global megatrends such as new nutritional needs, the energy crisis, digitalisation, or scarcity of raw materials. We can contribute and create opportunities through this transformation, particularly with regards to sustainability, through the ESG by design of our products and our many years of application know-how. Together with our customers, we utilise our framework of co-creation and sustainable innovation to optimise our products and our customers' processes in terms of resource and energy
efficiency. Because sustainable innovation is part of our corporate culture.

What is ESG by Design?

"ESG by Design" describes our concept of incorporating ESG aspects into the design and development process of products. It is characterized in particular by the consideration of the impact of our products on the environment (e.g. carbon footprint, energy efficiency). It also takes into account social factors such as fair working conditions and diversity, as well as compliance with legal and ethical requirements throughout the supply chain. By applying ESG by Design principles, we aim to create products that not only meet the functional requirements of our customers, but are also environmentally sustainable and socially responsible. As a company, we want to develop products that have a positive impact on our customers, the planet and society as a whole.

We make our actions visible

We see sustainability as a commitment to continuous improvement and as a precondition for our long-term success. We want to make this visible to the public and provide transparent information about our goals, measures, and both our positive and negative developments. Our investor Capvis has been supporting the initiative to systematize sustainability management since 2022 and our further goal to link it to our corporate strategy.

We will make our sustainability activities comprehensively transparent in the future: from 2023, we will expand our existing ESG reporting and from 2025, we will report in accordance with a global standard.
